About
Skylight Music Theatre is a nationally recognized destination for music theater in Milwaukee, founded in 1959 and dedicated to celebrating the transformative power of the musical and theatrical arts through innovation, education, and entertainment for Milwaukee's diverse community. Skylight operates the Broadway Theatre Center at 158 North Broadway in Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward, which houses two performance spaces: the 358-seat Cabot Theatre, a replication of a beautiful 18th-century French opera house, and the 99-seat Studio Theatre, a versatile black box space. The company produces over 105 performances each season across a broad and adventuresome repertoire — from baroque opera, European operetta, and Gilbert and Sullivan to Broadway musicals, contemporary chamber operas, and original musical revues.

Skylight performs in the 358-seat Cabot Theatre, a replication of an 18th-century French opera house, at the Broadway Theatre Center; the building also houses the 99-seat Studio Theatre black box space. ASL-interpreted performances are offered for five productions in the 2025–26 season, with interpreters seated near the stage for the best sight lines (call the Box Office at (414) 291-7800 or email tickets@skylightmusictheatre.org). Sensory-inclusive performances keep house lights dimmed low, maintain comfortable sound levels, let guests talk and leave their seats under supervision, provide Activity and Quiet Areas, and permit personal snacks and drinks.
Our Guidelines
1. Make Accessibility Info Easy to Find - Dedicated Website Accessibility Page

Clearly post detailed accessibility information online, covering parking, entrances, interior pathways, site plans, and more.

2. Include All Mobility Devices

Consider walkers, canes, crutches — not just wheelchairs. Provide specifics for a variety of mobility needs. Include people who use different devices in the conversation.

3. Go Beyond ADA Compliance

ADA is the minimum. Strive for real-world accessibility through thoughtful design and ongoing improvements.

4. Visibility = Accessibility

If disabled visitors aren't present, barriers may exist. Transparency and preparation are the keys to inclusion. Empower everyone to attend.
