About
Pittsburgh Musical Theater (PMT) is a professional musical-theater company and conservatory whose home is the historic Gargaro Theater at 327 South Main Street in Pittsburgh's West End — a 1915 former school building (renamed in 2015 for founding artistic director Kenneth V. Gargaro) billed as "Pittsburgh's Off-Broadway venue." The same address hosts PMT's outdoor West End Canopy (home of Evil Dead The Musical), while larger productions play the 1,300-seat Byham Theater downtown. PMT offers accessibility services — American Sign Language interpretation (with at least four weeks' notice), assistive listening devices at Byham performances, and large-print and electronic programs — coordinated by its Audience Services Manager and Accessibility Coordinator. The organization notes that its historic West End building currently has limited physical accessibility and asks patrons with access needs to contact it in advance.

Our Guidelines
1. Make Accessibility Info Easy to Find - Dedicated Website Accessibility Page
Clearly post detailed accessibility information online, covering parking, entrances, interior pathways, site plans, and more.
2. Include All Mobility Devices
Consider walkers, canes, crutches — not just wheelchairs. Provide specifics for a variety of mobility needs. Include people who use different devices in the conversation.
3. Go Beyond ADA Compliance
ADA is the minimum. Strive for real-world accessibility through thoughtful design and ongoing improvements.
4. Visibility = Accessibility
If disabled visitors aren't present, barriers may exist. Transparency and preparation are the keys to inclusion. Empower everyone to attend.
