About
The Children's Museum of Pittsburgh, at 10 Children's Way in Allegheny Square on the city's North Side, is a hands-on children's museum with exhibits such as MAKESHOP, the Kindness Gallery, the Garage, Waterplay, the Nursery, and Very Eric Carle, plus the Big Red Room Café. Its adjacent MuseumLab offers additional programming at 6 Allegheny Square East. The museum is open daily 10 a.m.–5 p.m. (MuseumLab Friday–Sunday, noon–5 p.m.), and visitors may leave and re-enter the same day with a valid wristband.

Monthly Sensory-Friendly Afternoons are held the second Tuesday of each month, 1–5 p.m., with lowered lights and sounds; sensory kits (noise-canceling headphones, sunglasses, fidgets, and more) and several designated Quiet Areas are available. Sighted guides for descriptive tours and ASL interpreters for tours and public programs can be arranged with two weeks' notice (accessibility@pittsburghkids.org). Wayfinding videos include closed captioning and signed English.
