Every month we want to highlight a venue that does exceptional work to make their space inclusive! To kick off this series we are shouting out the North Shore Performing Arts Center. Located in the Chicago suburb of Skokie, Illinois, the North Shore Performing Arts Center strives to make their space accessible inside and out.
Their website provides clear, easy to find information with instructions on where to park, accessible drop off and pick up areas, and dedicated entrances. Organizations like Music Theater Works perform exclusively at the Center. In addition to mobility accessibility, Music Theater Works and North Shore feature performances with Spanish Supertitles, hearing loop systems for audio assistance, T-coil access for those with hearing aids, and Listen!
